This Taco Bell Cinnabon delights recipe is irresistibly mouthwatering and so simple to make!

Taco Bell Cinnabon delights-

Yeast donuts are filled with Taco Bell’s signature cream cheese icing and rolled in their trademark sweet and spicy Makara cinnamon sugar.

Glen Bell founded the Taco Bell chain of fast-food restaurants in 1962 in Irvine, California. They propose flavorful Mexican food, including nachos, burritos, tacos, and some other “value menu” dishes.

They also make these sweet cinnamon delights!

This copycat recipe is quick and easy and uses readily available ingredients that you mix together and then fry.

Plus, you can serve these yummy donuts with their creamy filling as a snack or at breakfast. They also make a really indulgent dessert that everyone will enjoy.

Now you can enjoy this Taco Bell dish in the comfort of your own kitchen.

All About The Taco Bell Cinnabon Delights Ingredients

The best type of flour for these cinnamon rolls is all-purpose flour.

All-purpose flour is the most common type of flour and has a mid-strength, medium gluten content of about 12%. You can use it in lots of different bakes, including bread, pastry, cookies, pancakes, and pizza dough.

Bread flour has too high a gluten content and might make your dessert a bit tough.

Use superfine sugar for this recipe. It’ll mix in better than granulated sugar with the other dry ingredients, and can also be used to make a glaze to coat your donuts.

You also don’t want your fried cinnamons to get too brown. So avoid less processed sugars, such as brown sugars and muscovado sugar, which are better suited to baked donuts.

Cinnamon powder has got a distinct aromatic taste and adds a warming flavor to this recipe.

Vanilla extract

Vanilla is a popular flavor all over the world. It can be found in cakes, cookies, ice creams, etc., but it also helps to enhance other sweet flavors in recipes.

You’ll see more than one type of vanilla flavoring used in baking. The best type is vanilla extract – this extracts the natural flavors of the beans by macerating them in an alcoholic solution.

Extract gives you a strong and authentic vanilla taste. Varieties include either imitation or artificial.

However, it can be more expensive, so if you only have vanilla essence to hand, this will work fine too. Just be warned that the taste might not be as authentically vanilla.

In this cinnabon ball recipe, a little delicate vanilla flavor is used as a counterbalance to the cinnamon, which has a stronger taste. Both work well together and the cinnamon shouldn’t be overpowering.

Cream cheese

Taco Bell uses their trademark cream cheese filling in their cinnamon rolls. This gives the donuts a tart and tangy taste.

The cream cheese’s savory base helps to balance out the sweeter flavors of the cinnamon and vanilla.

But, I’d recommend that if you want to freeze some donuts to bake later, don’t add the cream cheese icing beforehand. Cream cheese doesn’t freeze very well so it’s best to add this filling later, after thawing your cinnabon delights.

  1. Mix the Ingredients

Add flour, superfine sugar, baking powder, and salt to a large mixing bowl. Use your whisk to mix these together well.

Add the egg, melted butter and milk to the dry ingredients to make your donut batter. Stir until just combined – don’t overmix or your cinnabons won’t puff up that much when fried.

Next, make your cinnamon sugar in a separate small bowl by combining the cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar.

  2. Fry the Cinnamon Balls

Heat the vegetable oil in your skillet or frying pan. Use a high heat.

Using the large spoon, carefully drop small balls of your donut batter into the hot oil. Don’t put too many in the pan at any one time, otherwise, they won’t have enough space for deep frying.

Allow the cinnabon delights to fry for about 2 to 3 minutes. You’ll know they’re done once they’ve turned a lovely golden brown color.

Then, take your slotted spoon and remove the balls from the frying pan. Allow any excess oil to drip away.

Place the cinnamon rolls into your cinnamon sugar. Make sure each one is coated thoroughly by rolling them around in the mixture.

  3. Fill the Donuts

Now it’s time to make the cream cheese frosting. Using your whisk again, fully combine the remaining powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cream cheese.

You can add as much or as little milk as required until the consistency is right.

Next, spoon the cream cheese icing into your piping bag. Use this to fill the inside of your cinnabon delights.

This can be a bit tricky, so move the piping bag around as needed until all the donuts are filled.

Finally, serve your delicious cinnamon rolls and enjoy!

Ways To Enjoy Taco Bell Cinnabon Delights

  • These donuts are best served hot, freshly cooked. You could have your Taco Bell cinnabon delights at breakfast time with a cup of steaming hot coffee – the bitter taste of the drink goes well with the sweet flavor of the balls.

  • Or serve your bake as a snack. They are yummy dipped into a chocolate or caramel sauce, as you would with churros.

  • Plus, these cinnamon rolls make a truly decadent dessert, especially if served with ice cream! Go all out and combine them with a vanilla or caramel ice cream, drizzled with a sauce for even more sweet flavors.

Storage Instructions

You can store the cinnabon delights in the refrigerator. Make sure you use an airtight container to keep them fresh and crisp; they should last up to 3 days.

The fried dough balls will also stay in your freezer for about 3 months. Allow them to cool fully after frying, and freeze them without the cream cheese filling and glaze/cinnamon sugar coating.
