Tips For Making The Best Texas Roadhouse Strawberry Margarita
- Use ice cubes rather than crushed ice if you’re making a standard margarita. Ice cubes stay intact longer, so they won’t water down your drink!
- Blend your margarita using the “ice crushing” mode on your blender for a smooth creamy cocktail.
- Keep all your ingredients as cold as possible. Ingredients like lime juice and tequila can be kept in the freezer, along with the cocktail glass.
- Rub the glass rim with a lime wedge to help the Kosher salt stick. The lime juice will also add extra flavor to your drink!
- Add frozen strawberries to a pre-made margarita mix for an even quicker version of this recipe.
Picking The Best Texas Roadhouse Frozen Strawberry Margarita Ingredients
Strawberries
To get that creamy smoothie-like texture, use frozen strawberries for this strawberry margarita. You won’t need to use ice, because the strawberries will help make the drink cold.
Pre-packaged frozen strawberries are my favorite choice because they’re so easy and inexpensive. Otherwise, freeze fresh strawberries for 1-2 hours before using them.
Limeade Concentrate
You can find limeade concentrate in the frozen section of most grocery stores. This tangy beverage adds a sour taste that helps make the drink more refreshing.
Keep your limeade frozen until you’re ready to blend your drink. It will help give your margarita that smooth, creamy texture.
If you can’t find limeade concentrate, the next best thing is to use a pre-made sour mix.
Tequila
Tequila is the heart and soul of this recipe. This slightly sweet alcohol has fruity notes that pair perfectly with lime and strawberry.
There are a wide variety of tequilas available such as tequila joven (gold), tequila blanco (white), or tequila reposado. Tequila blanco tastes strongly of agave, while tequila reposado is smoother and richer.
I prefer to use tequila joven for frozen strawberry margaritas. It has a nice smooth taste with a neutral flavor.
Triple Sec
Triple sec is a liqueur from France. It’s a popular addition to fruity, summery drinks due to its orange flavoring.
There are several different types of triple sec available, but the most popular brand for margaritas is Cointreau. Cointreau is smooth and warm, which makes it pair nicely with tequila.
Salt
Salt mainly acts as a garnish for the glass, but also helps elevate the fruit flavors in the margarita. The most common type of salt to rim a margarita glass is Kosher salt.
Kosher salt tends to stick to the glass more easily. It also has a less intense salty flavor, so it’s enjoyable when sipping your drink!
Simple Syrup
Simple syrup is commonly used in mixed drinks to add a slight sweetness. The sugar is fully dissolved, so it won’t leave a grainy texture.
You can make simple syrup in minutes by simply heating 1 part sugar with 1 part water. Let the mixture chill completely before adding it to your margarita.

Nutrition Tips/Advice
Fruits like strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin A and vitamin C. Strawberries are also filled with nutrients like potassium, fiber, and calcium.
Frozen strawberries have a similar amount of nutrients as fresh strawberries. That means they still provide cancer-fighting properties and help prevent inflammation.
Although strawberries are a healthy fruit, strawberry margaritas should be enjoyed in moderation due to their alcohol content. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans suggest men restrict drinking to 2 drinks a day and women just 1 drink.
Consuming more than the recommended amount of alcohol per day is considered excessive drinking. This can lead to a number of conditions like heart disease, hypertension, and liver disease.
